Description
I don’t know how to get this team under the cap. I saw that the islanders are one of the teams interested in Laine and I just don’t see it. They don’t have the 2C Jets want unless they give up Nelson which is not happening and they don’t have the cap to keep all of their best RFAs. So what would you guys do?

I'm still blown away by them spending that much on Pageau. What a solid way to handcuff yourself after this season. Either Lou was drunk at the wheel, or he already knows how to fix the cap issue for this team going forward.

Laine gonna need 10-11 mil per to resign after next. If you can’t fit him now good luck next year

Yeah no idea how Lou will get money to sign his own free agents, let alone Laine

You're still $3.3 mil over the cap and good luck next year when Laine gets around $10.0m to $11.0m per the Islanders are the last team that can afford Laine.

Agreed. No idea why rumors are saying islanders are interested

Red Wings don't need Komarov. They already have enough garbage in Abdelkader, Nielsen, Filppula, Dekeyser and Staal.

they're interested, doesn't mean it happens.

they could mortgage the future by trading away prospects and picks to get rid of Ladd, Boychuk, Komarov, Leddy to free up room.

they would be a solid team for the next 5 years, allowing them to re-stock the system.

though I don't see this happening, too much of a gamble.

I don’t want Laine, I’d rather a Pulock for Ehlers Trade straight up

Well firstly a trade involving Laine includes Pulock. So there is considerable cap difference between him and Mayfield.

If you watched Pageau in the playoffs, you'd wonder why the Islanders didn't spend more to get him.

Sorry, didn't mean that as a "Pageau isn't good", meant it more as a "You made this move, which is now going to screw you when you're trying to get Pulock and Barzal resigned".

Yeah that was a little surprising that he was so quickly re-signed, but Lou also tried to sign Panarin last year. I'm guessing he has a plan we don't know about.
