Hagg is a below average defenseman that gets dominated in possession and expected outcomes.

I honestly do not understand what some fans are so excited about with this guy, except that he has hits and blocked shots... two stats that only happen because he cannot manage the puck. If you watch him closely, you can see him realize that he has no idea where he is supposed to be in his own end and then he reads it, 2 seconds too late.

I don't think anyone is "excited" about this, but certainly no reason to be mad about it. It isn't going to have any real long-term impact on our cap and gives us a good 6th/7th dman.

Solid AAV but I don't like how it takes him right to UFA. 0 UFA years bought typically isn't a good thing.

The worst part is you don't even notice the hits. I see him hit maybe one person a game yet he'll get credited for six somehow. For as much as Luke Schenn stunk on the Flyers, at least i'd see him go flying off the screen to make a hit and skates would be up in the air after he made contact. Sure the other team scored in the process because he completed abandoned the play, but he legitimately leveled someone at least.

Lots of hate here, even from philly fans. He may not be that great, but think that Jack Johnson is much worse and much, much more expensive

I don’t think it really matters about when depth defensemen are UFA. He wouldn’t make much more on the open market, and it’s extremely easy to replace him.

Every team has their blind spots with players like this where they just refuse to accept that he's not very good

Steal, Haggs worth 2.5 mill on the ufa market.

so he still would have made 2.5 on the ufa market if the Flyers didn't qualify him.

Hagg is a fine player on the bottom six. He isn't poor on cycles and can eat shots. Way too many fans in the Philadelphia fanbase worry too much over the bottom-pair and bottom-line defense but don't ever call out Couturier, Hayes, Sanheim, Myers, etc. when they mess up.

Hagg is terrible, of course. But there was no way the Flyers were not going to extend him, so overall I'm quite happy with how low the AAV turned out to be.

I really hope Bergevin doesn't give Mete that much. There may not even be room for him in the lineup next season. 1.2M/per maximum please.

There isn't even room for Mete unless Romanov goes to the AHL.

Chiarot
Edmundson
Kulak
Mete
Romanov

I guess Mete could be the 7th guy, but not for 1.5 million

He's a good bottom pairing d-man ... why are so many people saying he's bad?

Trade Ghost this offseason. He needs a change of scenery and the Flyers need to make a play for Tory Krug or Tyson Barrie.

He's outplayed in every game while being very sheltered.
