WPG won't go into next season with a 21 man roster. But I've heard rumblings on Perreault, so maybe that's how they can get some extra cap space?

I don't think that the Tanev or Soucy signings are too realistic as I expect Tanev to get more than 1 year (and it being extra important now with covid and job uncertainty) and Soucy to stay in MIN. Could also sign DeMelo for cheaper than Tanev unless you think he's going to free agency. WPG has Niku that should at least be on the team next season, if not starting, and Heinola who could challenge for a spot too. So there are some cheap, internal options at defense.

I'd also expect them to just resign Eakin as opposed to Grant (probably around that cap hit too, maybe $2m).

Samberg and Heinola are going to give the 3rd pairing LD a run for their money as they both could make the roster. It really is unfortunate that wpg has to deal with essentially another Dustin byfuglien situation in terms of having to save sufficient cap space until wpg knows what little will do. I believe it is highly unlikely he will return to play but they can’t make any moves until they’re 100% sure. Jets would be better off signing Dillon and DeMelo, along with haula to patch some of their holes

i think Chevy wants to get a little stronger on the back end and Tannev fits the bill maybe 1 year was to short a term but i think the money is close Dillon is a good signing but i kind of like Soucy

Soucy will stay in MIN, better chance at dillon. Also I’d take DeMelo over tanev any day, DeMelo isn’t injury prone and younger.
