Laine

Initial Creation Date: Sep. 28, 2020

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm gonna get a lot of salty rangers fans here, but you're not giving up anything you can't afford to lose. DeAngelo is obsolete once Nils comes over, it'd be a surprise if Kravtsov became half the player Laine is and they already have the best prospect pool in the league without those two firsts.

I know they need help down the middle, but Strome proved he can play a supporting role and this gives Chytil 2 years to grow into the 2C role.

You have two lines that could easily be #1 lines on most teams and a 3rd line that has an insane amount of potential.

the only thing about Laine going to the Rangers is that he will be a 10 million guy on his next contract and they have to sign Zib, Bush, Fox and other young guns and would creat problems

I agree with ya there, but you can always make room for a superstar scorer.

I'd assume Buch would be traded following this season and Kakko would fill his role. You could potentially get Kreider to waive for the right situation...etc.
Hopefully by the time Zib and Fox need to get paid the flat cap is gone and the revenue from the new TV deal/Seattle bump it significantly

Don't want Laine. Horrible defensively and okay stats. We already have Kakko who's pretty similar. Both top 6 wingers.

there was a rumour Rangers offered the 1st overall to Ottawa for Tkachuk + one of the picks and Ottawa rejected. Thank you

... Howden has much less value than Kravtsov, but by all means, take him

Not when they already have panarin, kakko, lafren, and krieder as elite and high priced/potential wingers and set for top 6. From a team building perspective, centers and defense are more valuable.

Winnipeg would have no interest in DeAngelo.

A 22 year old with two full seasons of NHL experience that plays C has "much less value" then a 20 year old Russian who hasnt really shown much in the KHL? I dont know mych about the guy, but Im not sure about that. Jets also need a guy who can potentially play in the top 6-9 as a C and Howden, at this point, has shown he could be that guy.

I’m not against your deal at all, only problem is Laine will ask for a big contract next year plus we have to pay all our RFAs plus Zib contract and we still haven’t addressed our biggest needs(2C and top pair LHD). Deal just doesn’t make sense for the team right now(unless maybe you find a way to trade Kreider)

Check out Kravs start to the KHL season this year... maybe 4x the value of Howden.

You know who's had a good start to the KHL season? Anders Lindback and Burmistrov
