Description
Is Bracco NHL ready? What's up with Kerfoot? Leafs fans, should he get traded? Is Robertson NHL ready? Also, how do you feel about Shattenkirk coming to the 6? Will he ask for more? I feel like he could do super well next to a defensive beast like Muzzin.

No Bracco. He’s not good enough.

Calgary doesn’t make that trade. Kerfoot should stay if he fits the cap and Shattenkirk would be a good add in my opinion for the right price. Not sure he doesn’t want more though.

Bracco has to prove he can play a 200ft game. Not ruling that out but it’s not likely.

I wouldn’t say he’s out completely. He will have to have a great camp. I used to get a lot of heat for defending Holl as well. Not saying it’s likely but it certainly isn’t impossible.

If he does well in camp, maybe. But right now no.

It all depends if he can prove he can play in both ends. His offensive skills are awesome and he has great chemistry with Matthews. They won’t be giving him that contract though. 750k and he can have one last shot.

So Calgary bails on their best prospect to do Toronto a favour on Johnsson?

Johnsson is good, but I highly agree he isn’t worth valimiki.

What favour is that? Anyone who thinks their GM would be doing Toronto a favour by trading for Dermott or Johnsson has 0 knowledge of their value.

I'm not suggesting the trade suggested is fair...but Johnsson has positive trade value

1. Bracco has to prove he's ready. The prospect tag is gone now...he's gotta come out to training camp with a fire lit under him. I think it's certainly possible he cracks the team this year...but it's no longer an
issue of there not being a spot available for him....a spot is definitely there for the taking...he's gotta show he can earn it now or likely be a career AHLer

2. My opinion with Kerfoot is that Kyle's plan for addressing the blueline without trading the big 4 means all bottom six contracts need to be under $3m cap hit. I think he's a perfectly capable 3C but might
be a casualty of addressing other needs

3. Robertson, to me, showed that he can be penciled in to the lineup. And if they move Johnsson, I think he could take a top 6 spot on the left side along with Hyman. He's gonna have to keep bringing it tho
and could find himself in a training camp battle with the KHL signings.

4. I think Shatty would be a great add to the blue-line. I'm just not sure what the number will be to sign him. I'd think this season in Tampa might put him in the $4.5-$5m range at least.

Kind of an interesting buyout from the Rangers then, the guy Shattenkirk looks like a stud out there when he's used correctly.

When you're surrounded by that much talent in TB....particularly having a guy like Hedman to log the heavy minutes ahead of you...you can relax and play your game. Who knows...maybe it'll be a terribly year for UFA's given the climate.
