Can disagree on the second coming back but Murray is absolutely enough to move JJ. Staal just went for a 2021 2nd, didn’t even have to move a pick this year

Demelo will probably get 3 million or even more on his next deal.

Staal is also better, 2 years less term, and >4M less expensive over said term.

Using Staal as the baseline, moving JJ would cost 1st+3rd?

Using Staal as the baseline, JJ should cost two 2nds or a 2nd and 3rd in 2020 to move. I value the Staal 2021 2nd as a 2020 3rd.
JJ costs less against the cap than Staal, which you skipped over. Also not so sure that Staal is really any better
I value Murray as worth at least two 2nds

So again, you can disagree on the second coming back, but Murray is more than enough to move JJ
