Let’s play a game of how long does it take for a Rangers’ fan to post a trade asking for a 1C for nothing

"Stamkos, Steven
Coburn, Braydon
TBL
Buchnevich, Pavel
Howden, Brett
Strome, Ryan [RFA Rights]
LUNDKVIST, NILS
2022 1st round pick (NYR)
2020 1st round pick (CAR)
2020 3rd round pick (NYR)
2022 2nd round pick (NYR)"

Tampa won't trade Stamkos, but at that return, with the cap pressure they're under, that'd probably be a tempting offer.

An injury prone 1C on a team that (1) doesn't really need him (2) in desperate need of cap space for cernak, sergachev, cirelli.

1st, 1st, 2nd aren't nothing

2C, 2RW, 4C/W and a solid D prospect

seems to add depth and cap space for TB to a team in the finals without 1C

Stamkos: great player (when he's on the ice)...but he is on the shelf an awful lot
Rangers: exactly the kind of situation I can see them getting suckered into
Fortunately: even if NYR were foolish enough to mortgage their future to try to acquire him...I think he would nix the trade anyway...why would a star player leave that situation to join a rebuild...especially when a BIG take home paycut is involved?

Stop undervaluing good players. He’s a 1C on a great contract and he shouldn’t be traded for spare parts. Also there’s a huge difference between a low 1st and a high 1st. These are high 1sts

I really don't think its that far off.. the real issue is him waiving to lose take home pay like the guy said above. Also if your knickers are still in a knot about it just read the title of the post. "JOKES BUT I CAN DREAM" not "THIS IS PERFECT AND HIGHLY LIKELY TO HAPPEN"

hahahaha I haven't talked about you once, simply said I would like to see you make a proposal to see how you value your hawks. It's supposed to be fun and wishful, we arent real GMs here. What would the hawks have to give up for Stamkos do you think? "in theory"

We don’t want Stamkos because we are find at center and wouldn’t want to give up enough to get him.

I guess the point went completely over your head. I was asking you to provide your stamkos value since you think mine is so far off. Had nothing to do with the hawks needing him at C. He also plays the wing I'll point out. Again, wanted you to place your value on him and show off your hockey knowledge.

Why are you turning this on me? i already explained that the Hawks don’t need Stamkos so I don’t have a proposal to offer. You are the one that created the thread.

Wow, please focus and read slowly.

I'm asking you to set a value, NOT make a trade proposal for the sake of the hawks needs. Instead of popping in every thread to say they are wrong and run away, I'd like you to give your opinion of what's fair in your mind. Listen don't worry about it, this shouldn't be so complicated. If you can't have a proper discussion or debate then you're just trolling.

Have fun pal

I would say in the Rangers situation (seeing as the proposal is for them), I’d say a trade for Stamkos would need to be Fox, Chytil, 2021 1st. Or Kakko, Miller, Kravtsov, and 2021 1st. Im not an expert on the Rangers prospects but I’d value Fox over Kakko after the rookie season which is why an extra prospect goes back to Tampa. This is a more futures oriented trade because Tampa won the cup without him and this allows them to stock up on their prospects while getting cap relief to resign Sergachev, Cernak, and Cirelli.

Also, I don’t think the Rangers should make this trade because why...? But this is fair value imo
