The Sabres lose that. Trouba was awful this year, failed to live up to the price tag. Kaako may be good but that package isn't worth it. If you're trading Eichel, go for Laf.

It starts with Lafreniere, second a center has to be part of the return so Zibs and then a prospect. Quality over quantity. NY says no and they both hang up the phone.

Remember the Pegulas paid a 7.5M bonus on July 1st so he's going nowhere, that's why ROR was hastily traded bc they didn't want to pay his 7.5M bonus. Eichel will be a Sabre this year and if the team continues to lose then maybe he's gone next year. If traded this year then 1OA should be in play as NY would only be liable for 2.5M in salary

So basically, eichels gone next year... but I don't see any trade happening until he publicly demands a trade and buffalo looses leverage. and BTW, only poverty franchises care about 2.5m so how would that make 1overall in play 🤣

If this team isn't upgraded and doesn't contend for the playoffs than yes I can see him asking out...yeah just bc NY isn't a poverty team doesn't mean that them saving 7.5M won't help them besides it's irrelevant bc Eichel isn't being traded this year. It's amazing to me that fans want one of the better centers in the league for garbage. If the Sabres are interested in Laine if he is available I expect Reinhart or Cozens and 8OA would be starters for him and the next years first that could be mid to lower in the round wouldn't interest Win.
