Tierney and Kerfoot are the same age and Tierney puts up more points playing on a bottom team than Kerfoot has put up playing on highly offensive playoff teams.
And Ottawa could likely sign Tierney at a similar price to Kerfoot's without the bonuses (which Melnyk hates paying). No thanks.

Detroit and Ottawa declines. Dermott might be worth a late 2nd to a team that really wants him but I’d max out at a 3rd for Detroit. Glendening is one of our alternate captains so I don’t see us just throwing him into a trade and he’ll probably have some value at the TDL.
Tierney is better than Kerfoot pretty much any way you look at it so no reason for Ottawa to do that first trade. And no way Johnsson gets you two 2nds. He’s coming of a big injury so you’d be lucky to get one 2nd but might have to settle for a 3rd if there’s not a big market for him.

In what world would Dermott get a 2nd and a player with retention? Leafs fantasy world.

At best he gets a 3rd, without a player.

Best you'll ever get for Johnsson is a 3rd. And still, he's probably worth a 4th. Ottawa is not spending 2 x 2nd on that lol

Glendening isn't getting moved until at least the TDL, Demott at most is worth a 3rd round pick nothing more.

Wasn't sure it was possible. But pretty much disagree with everyone's take on this ACGM with the exception of Tierney for Kerfoot comments.

Red Wings fans baffle me how they are certain they can land a 2nd for 31yr old, pending UFA, perennial bottom-6 forward Glendenning at the deadline but in the same sentence think that a 23yr old top 4 dman with four more years left of team control can get a 3rd, at best. I

OTT rejects both.

Johnsson carried by Toronto stars, and Kerfoot has had better teammates and puts up comparable production to Tierney. Would rather keep the RFA
