So why would Gourde and Johnson waive their NTCs just to leave a Cup winner and go to much weaker teams?

Gourde stays. And why sign Simmonds when you have Taylor Raddysh at a lower cap hit?

Gourde isn't waiving for Ottawa nor is Johnson waiving for Minnesota. Killorn is the only realistic moving piece.

hi, because they will be told to leave by management
if accepted they can take nice - let's say - $ 1M gift in their pockets

Of course what is 1m when the players are going to be making 20m each during the life their contracts. Johnson to Minni, which soon will one of the worse travel schedules in the league? No Johnsson would prefer to lie on a beach rather than being on endless charter flights or ice fishing

hi, bist du wirklich ian? my answer: Simmonds is more suitable for 3rd line role than Raddysh and also offers some scoring and powerplay skill, not saying this vet might be highly motivated to take low salary just to get the chance to win the cup

Lightning need to add a sweetener to get rid of what is essentially a cap dump to Minnesota.

Yeah if I'm Johnson there's no chance in hell I'm leaving a cup winning team to a fringe/bottom dweller and also taking a pay cut in the form of income taxes.

Also if I'm Guerin then I'm not doing Tampa any favors by helping them without a sweetener. Johnson is fine but we need to get younger and already have enough older players with big contracts.

why? he's still +/- 40 points player, right-handed, can play a center - is this not all Minni has been missing?

Gourde would lose about 3.5M through the rest of his contract if he's traded, that 1M ain't enough

he is on the wrong side of 30 with a cap hit of 5 mil for 4 more years. He may be able to produce for 1-2 more season but it is a safe bet to guess he will drop off.

Plus I don't think he is really good enough to be much more than a low end 2C. Right now the Wild have made up their mind that Johannson will be the 2C. The Wild are set on bottom 6 centers so If TJ moves to that role in a season or 2 it just causes more issues than fixes for the future.

Better bet would be finding a team that is about to contend looking for a high end 3C. However with the full NTC it may be an issue to get him to leave a cup contender.

Look .. and this is TREND .. Tyler Johnson will HAVE to waive .. you saw it with Staal and Penguin guy to Florida saying .. "when team doesn't want u writing is on wall.. ".. these clausea mean little if played is not on last year where buyout makes sense .. Johnson gone .. GOurde trade also makes sense as it would be selling high.. but Tyler is GONE ..
