Benning has said that he won't move picks to move out salary. Obviously, if the right deal comes along he does it but I don't think this is it.

Virtanen and a 1st to take on LE's contract? dream on man, Staal just went for a second on it's own. LE has 2 years so upgrade that 2 a first would be fair, the first and Virtanen is an overpay IMO

Yeah I listened on 1200. He's such a great speaker, it's a shame that he isn't made available more often. This is his first time solo running the draft, and I imagine he'll be an Assistant GM in a couple of years.

One of the most interesting things he mentioned was that there was the possibility for Ottawa to trade back from five if the right situation presented itself. I got the sense that it might be a case that they have a guy that want at 5, but if he goes to Detroit at 4, they might think their next choice would still be on the board if they trade back a bit. I think the situation might be that they have Raymond at 5, but if he goes 4th, they might trade back and take Jack Qunn.

From what I gathered, I would be surprised if they went that route. He mentioned there was internal debate about Stutzle, but said ideally he will be a C should they end up with him. He also mentioned the C depth they have coming with Norris and Pinto (didn't mention L.Brown) and that he thought White has more to show. My takeaway was that they are pretty sure they're getting a C 3rd overall either way, and they feel they will be better served targeting a different position 5th. I think given how much time he spent talking about the wing depth this year, I would anticipate that being the thought process.

It wouldn't surprise me at this point. I really have no clue what kind of moves their going to make, but this team is about to look vastly different. I hope they make a move soon.

I think signs kind of point towards the sens pushing for a fairly significant acquisition this offseason. Not signing the RFA's, Bobby Ryan Buyout, And they have all the Assets you could possibly need to actually make a solid offer. I think they wanted to cut as much money as they can, bring in their piece and go from there. I think Draft could be pretty eventful.

Sorry, I was away from the desk for a day. Missed all the notifications. I do believe there is talk that they want to move #28 overall for a young stud D or forward from a team in cap trouble. Nylander makes the most sense but Boeser wouldn't surprise me either. Specially if they miss out on Raymond. They aren't moving #5 but they are entertaining offers.

i think if they really want to get that goal-scoring winger they could do it. id rather go elsewhere with the pick but i would be on board
