This is another Rangers dream build for this offseason that is similar to my first but also not very likely to occur in some areas!!!
Bringing in Cirelli on an OS is a brilliant move for the Rangers. He could be a future Selke winner that would fit perfectly between all of the talent the Rangers have on the wings going forward. He isn't an amazing offensive player but can produce well with some skill around him and has scored some very clutch goals. Cirelli is a perfect 2C more so because of his defensive and penalty kill ability, which the Rangers could desperately use. His contract at 4x6 could be considered a little high considering his offensive skill but I believe he is worth that money and some people may think even more. I would pay over 6 just to lock him up and make sure that the Lightning can't match. He could also come through a trade, which is more realistic and still completely worth it for the Rangers even with a decent package.
I went with a Georgiev trade rather than a Lundqvist buyout or trade considering that Lundqvist only has one year left and is such an important guy for the room and for Igor. Georgie could go to many different teams, I just happened to pick Buffalo here. I have had him going to the Red Wings for two thirds but decided to change it up because of the Staal trade. Any team that he goes to should be happy to pick him up as a proven young goalie for a future second or a few depth picks.
A Kreider trade is one I don't see happening for a while because of his extension but could be huge if done this offseason with Laf coming in. The Avs get a perfect winger to boost their top 6 up even further for a future 1st and a strong depth winger in Nichushkin. He is a great guy to have on any team that Colorado won't want to move, but that makes one less RFA for them to sign and I have thrown in a 4th round pick that could also be a 3rd. The deal could also be the 1st and Tyson Jost for Kreider straight up, but I would love to have Nichushkin coming back due to the value Colorado will get out of Kreider in the top 6.
The Trouba trade also seems unlikely to happen this offseason but I think it is a move that the Rangers need to make soon. We won't be able to afford Trouba's deal in the future with all the young guys that are playing on rookie or bridge deals, and we already have 3 RHD's of the future (Fox, Tony, Lundkvist) that are all offensive studs. As long as Anaheim moves Manson or Gudbranson, they could afford to pay out the rest of Trouba's deal because most of their future stars haven't played yet or are yet to be drafted. More importantly, Trouba is still young and would be a stud for them to play with their young, star forwards on a currently very weak right defense.
Moving Stome to Winnipeg for a 2nd is a move the Rangers would need to make to bring in Cirelli and could be a steal for the Jets. People talk about Strome as a 3C who just played like a 2C because of Panarin, but even if this was the case he could still be fantastic as a 2C for Winnipeg playing between Ehlers and Laine. I believe Strome would succeed in this situation playing with talented guys and could prove that he is the real deal, while the Rangers get a decent pick and room for other guys.
Bringing back Lemieux as a solid 4th liner is a no brainer, and bringing Fast back for another year would allow Kravtsov to fully develop and give the Rangers another penalty killer. He could even come back again the next offseason if the Rangers decide to move on from Buchnevich in favor of Kravtsov and want to keep Fast as a more traditional depth guy instead. Deangelo coming back for two years allows him to prove his worth and gives the Rangers the option to move on from him as Lundkvist becomes ready to play in the NHL and slot right in to his role. Nichushkin's deal is a great price to pay for a guy that could play all around the top 9 and the PK as the younger wings develop, could be paid upwards of 3 mil. Brendan Dillon would be a huge signing to play with Deangelo, a stay at home guy that still has his legs and could be a key contributor for a few years. Bogosian would be a decent RHD to replace Trouba in the top 6 for a year and be a solid partner for Miller or another young LHD like Hajek or Reunanen if Miller is not ready for NHL time.
I like the Cirelli offer sheet, might even be too high as TB can't afford to pay him 5m. I could live with the Kreider trade as Laf could also be on the 1st line. Georgiev I sign for 3M/3YR+(paid by hank buy out). The Trouba trade wouldn't happen, he has a very small list of cities he will play in.

Avs decline, you got greedy included Nichushkin then tried to balance it with a throw away pick. Easy easy no, Nichushkin is cost controlled and cheap Kreider is expensive for a long time

I would attempt a “reasonable” trade first...and if that failed I would go for the OS...would go a bit higher though within the same compensation range...to make sure that if they match their negotiations with other RFAs would be real difficult...while TB has only about 5M in cap to sign several players- they will scuttle one or two players to get the cap they need.

When you say reasonable do you mean civil? 2021 1st and 3rd seems like a good deal to get cirelli.. underpaying for him in my eyes. I don't think TB will offer him 6m either, not saying he isn't worth it, but thats a lot of juggling of 5m players to sign their RFAs

Considering what TB paid for Goodrow and Coleman- I think a 20211st and 3rd is a bit light...look- I certainly want to take advantage of this situation... but it’s not good business to go for the throat right away- short of that should still be able to work a decent deal...GMs that look to crush the others- what goes around comes around...that all said- if the favorable (yet civil) deal doesn’t work- then game on...at this point go for the jugular with an OS that really puts the screws to them.

Right, so we agree that's a cheap price to pay. And yes, I get the civil offer first method but our civil offer may also be insulting in this situation. what is your thoughts for a civil offer?

A civil offer would be one that starts with the OS comp- yet through negotiation eventually adds a Rykov, Reaunen, or Panjiemi to that package. Or a package which Eventually includes #22 or a player like Chytl. I’m not looking to peddle off any of these- and of course you start the offer low and negotiate up... but if Brisbois gets the feel that JG is just interested in taking him to the cleaners- he’ll never do business with JG again.

Ya of course. No one is suggesting cleaners... 1st, 3rd, chytil might get it done in a civil manner. the rest seem low still

Actually I think that offer is too generous...
2021 1st + 2021 3rd + one of Robertson (or Barron)
Or
2021 1st + 2021 3rd + 2020 6th + one of Rykov or Reaunen
If Chytl involved: Chytl + 2020 3rd+ 2020 6th
Btw...would try to avoid including Chytl...in that lineup and coaching- could become a BEAST
