Tampa likely can’t match this or they could lose Cirelli and Cernak. If any of the Tampa RFAs match an O/S that puts them in a tough spot (like this would), teams will be bending them over when they try to dump cap. I think sergachev would accept this. I mean what does he have to lose? He either goes to MTL and makes 8.5m and gets walked to FA for a big payday or it’s matched by Tampa and he gets to make 8.5m per year with no state tax.

Berg should do it as it is a win win... if we get him great but also great if tb has to pay him that much and with Cirelli to pay as well they would lose 2 players instead of one to get under the cap.. like johnson and killorn
