Description

Be competitive as a team, giving the young kids the chance to shine and doing ourselves best with our miserable defense. Leave Skjei in the minors for a while, if not the whole season, to develop more (really struggled in the preseason). Expect big years from JT, Kreider, and Zib as well as a bounce back year for Nash. Vesey and Buch get valuable time and experience. Put Girardi in a situation where he will be terrible, forces Rangers hand to deal with him in the offseason. Lindberg will replace Pirri at 4C and will force Gerbe to AHL. Rotate Pirri in casually to get him some time and then trade him as a rental at the deadline.

Leaving Skeji in minors is an awful idea. Remember McDonagh wasnt great out of the box. Sometimes player start rough also due to long offseasons. Give him some time. He also played RD for us last year and he was much better. So slot him on the right side and see how it goes.

And I didnt even mention that he got paired with a bottom 5 defenseman in the league (girardi) for most of the preseason. Hard to expect a rookie to carry an anchor (and our D has several)
