That makes more sense for the wild but less for Toronto. I’m going to be honest... even this trade makes little sense for Toronto.

Rielly/dumba.... -168 by TDL lol.

Maybe, I’m a little reluctant to give up Liljegren if we can’t have a first this year though.

I think you need to keep one or the other. Liljegren looks to be developing a nice two way game. I say keep them both for now.

I honestly thought the put 1st would be fine by now. I’m almost getting the feeling that dubas is going to pick in the first round.

Haha yes. Makes sense to get a good player now.

I don't see MIN making those deals to be honest.. Would you give up Muzzin for that package? I wouldn't

No, but Muzzin is a bit better, and not prone to be lost to Seattle.

Rather keep Kerfoot and Holl at 5.5m. than 6m for Dumba, and you want to add a first rounder too. Way too much for a average, maybe a little more Dman.

Dumba is very good, just that he’s an offensive defenceman. But that’s exactly what Dubas wants. Don’t forget he won king Clancy.

Why is folks think Minni has all these very good Dman, Suter, Brodin, Dumba, Spurgeron, and Leafs have just two Reilly and Muzzin. Having Engall at 3C? That really hurts the team If UFA RHD Bogosian is truly a top 6 Dman, he gets more than 1.5m

He would be your #3 and some could argue #2 with the leafs offense. Holl at best should be a #5 right now. low level soft skill in kerfoot is the last thing the leafs need.

???? Don't know why you say that about Holl. He was the 3rd best Dman on the Leafs last year. 20 minutes a games, killed penalties, a plus player. Just because he isn't well know and is on a modest contract doesn't make him a bad player. Kerfoot was fine for the Leafs last year.

You're misunderstanding, he was the LEAFS 3rd best but shouldn't be with a proper D line up. As for Kerfoot, LEAFS are soft, very soft.. They need to bulk up a bit and Kerfoot is not that so its an easy 3m to move so you can bulk up. No one is saying they are awful and shouldn't be in the league. Simply, if Holl is your #3 this year and they maintain the soft skill ideology then youre in for a repeat.. Maybe youre happy with that but most arent

Zero chance the Wild does this.... zero.

Kerfoot is an overpaid 3rd line C... we have plenty of third line C's. And we won't be able to draft one with that 15th overall pick either. There is no reason for the Wild to give up a huge trade chip in Dumba for that crap.

No you're misunderstanding. All those high priced and alleged Dman stalwarts that Minnesota has...alllowed 5 fewer goals than the Leafs last year. Nashville with Ellis, Ekblom, and Josi making 20m this year allowed 8 fewer goals than the Leafs. So let's stop the illusion that all other Dmen are so great and the Leafs group isn't. The Leafs two worse Dmen last season...Barrie and Ceci will no longer be with the Leafs. So the Leafs will have different look on defence that last season. But please don't think high priced middling Dmen would help the Leafs, when they don't even help their current team.

I don't think Wild do this- they/the league probably value Dumba higher. Besides, it would be bad for the leafs- teams will light up that first pair. And I would never do the Bogosian signing if he has to play in your top 4. I think he is a 6/7. There is no Hedmen on this team.

Then they lose the opertunaty to protect 3 forward (the other 3 d msn have NMC).

If it comes to it, the Wild would have the choice of losing Dumba, or one of: Kunin, Greenway, or Donato. That’s the easiest decision Bill Guerin will ever have to make! He would gladly lose all 3 of the latter before he would consider losing Dumba! That is, if he’s smart...tbd.

I'm not saying the Leafs and their defence our Cup winners, but cmon you can say that about the majority of NHL teams. To think just because a non Leaf Dman shoots rights, and then the Leafs have to overpay to get this RHD is going to help the Leafs.....foolish. But 10% of all CapFriendly posts are the same....a middling RHD gets traded to the Leafs and Leafs fans are suppose to think that player is going to help them. Ridiculous.

lol buddy... Kerfoot would be top 6 for you, and Holl a home grown top 4. Also you get a first. All for a guy you will lose at the expansion draft anyway.

But at what cost? Just by going by this post....Engvall at 3C. No thanks. Bogosian if he is top four he doesn't sign for 1.5m and to lose a top 15 pick too. Rather just keep the dependable Holl, Kerfoot, and the pick. Trade Johnsson for nothing and then have cap to add a Dman in DeMelo.
