How NHL-calibre is Lundestrom? The reason I would need Steel Is for a solid, young, cost efficient 3C. Is Lundstrom 100% ready for that?

Marner's cap hit is almost $11 million and we'd retain salary on Manson? Plus, you left out Liljegren.

23 year old superstar players with term don't come cheap

Only downside is he doesn’t shoot a ton. If you can get him to do that he should be ready

I would be willing to throw in Liljegren and a 3rd and Ducks throw in like a 2nd and a fourth to offset the difference between Steel and Lundestrom if that works?

So we are just gonna undervalue all the ducks players and overvalue leaf players.. makes sense usually how things work around here.

Nor, apparently, do they come with any sense of realism.

Rakell is a 2nd liner with 2 years of term left. Manson is a 2nd pair D with two years left. Steel is a 22 y/o 3C, with some upside I'll admit. Then a late first round pick, for...

A 94 point 23 year old with 5 years left of term.

was on pace for pretty much the same this year. 2 of 4 years in the NHL for 90+ points at 23 years old, not many players in the league have done that

Also not overpaid 2M. Tops 1-1.5M, which isn't that bad. I'd rather pay my stars an extra 1M than pay that money to an old useless bottom 6 player like so many teams are stuck with now

Is very overpaid the ducks aren’t giving up their top line player top rhd and one of their top prospects AND a 1st for marner lmao how does that benefit the ducks

2nd pair D with only 2 years left, 2nd line F with only 2 years left, and 3rd liner (not a prospect, a third liner), and a late first, for a superstar. That's how it benefits the Ducks.

Well, then, you guys just keep mimicking Edmonton's strategic plan of putting three or four superstars on the ice together with 19 or 20 spear carriers and hoping that leads to at least one first-round victory . . .

Sam steel 22 years old is already considered a 3rd liner..? Wouldn’t classify marner as a superstar either so let’s maybe ease up on that Manson is a solid top 4 dman and rakell is a solid top 6 fwd idk how you don’t see that your delusional here

Marner's production so far is comparable to Patrick Kane. Is Kane not a superstar?

HOLY SH** plz tell me you aren’t comparing marner to kane...? Marner doesn’t control the game and make his teammates better like kane does and also doesn’t play with a Tavares/Matthews center.. yikes that hurt my brain

I'm not saying he's as good as Kane, but the offensive numbers speak for themselves in that he's comparable at his age. Also a strong PK player

Also so false about Marner not making his teammates better - every single player that he has player with consistently has put up career highs playing with him, and that isn't an exaggeration - look it up, it's 100% true. Marner plays with JT, career high in goals by far, moved to AM line the next year and AM scores his career high in goals by far while Tavares has a down year not playing with him. Same with Kadri, Bozak, JVR, Hyman, and many more. He is more than capable of driving a line, was the top dog on his line for 2 years, arguably was the top dog when he got to play with Tavares last year.
