And of course on whether he gets big money & term by someone else

So you sign Hall and then proceed to send the monster of a Dman who will check him into oblivion to a team you will face in the early rounds. Odd choice

Seems like the cap will be flat for a while though so the 1 year deal doesn't help in that aspect. Someone will almost certainly offer him a 7 year deal in the $8m (at least) range. So taking the 1 year deal at $9m really isn't the sensible move.

Yeah probably but if they go big for one year & everyone else doesn't go big with term, makes sense. & remember lotta teams wanna shed $$$ (or find deals with high cap low dollars) so maybe the big deal won't be there
