I like Gourde’s fit, but I would image the term left on his deal is a concern. Palat and Killorn have 2 and 3 years left respectively which fits with the MacKinnon timeline, but neither play center. Johnson and Gourde can play center, but have 4 and 5 years respectively. There may not be a perfect fit for Colorado out of that group of 4, but I would think Colorado has some level in interest in all of those guys. It’s also worth noting that Killorn is the only one of those four without a full no-trade clause this year.

I like Gourde but his numbers have been on the decline in a big way since his career year in 17-18. It's easy to think he could get that back with a "change of scenery" but it's more likely he's regressed o his mean. He's got 5 years left at a pretty high rate; it would be an expensive experiment to see if he could return to being a 64 point player. And, as mentioned, he has a full NTC and has no real reason to waive it.

Just looking at it because a fellow Avs poster is obsessed with him.

IRL I like Gourde to Detroit.
