That lineup is more balanced. The trades are fair, I think, at least they are within realism gap. Some Habs fans may say that Gaudreau is another small player, but Tampa just showed that you build around talent and surround them with size and grit. They could get cheaply a player like Josh Anderson and some physical bottom 6 guys and they would be fine. But I'm just not sold on Murray with that salary.

For someone who is planted firmly in the "don't trade a hundred point player" camp, this team does look good. I do want to see what Lindholm can do at C for a full season and I think with these lines you either move Monahan and Dube up or you switch Lindholm and Mangiapane. It's tough to build out lines the way you want here because Monahan and Tkachuk just can't skate well enough to play together.

I would go a different direction with the goalie. If you don't make that trade the Flames keep a draft asset and have the money to go after Markstrom, with a 23 man roster there may need to be a Derek Ryan trade to acoomodate but that is what it is. I would probably sign Holtby at 4 before going after Murray in a trade.

I like murray trade.
I would petsonslly rather keep the picks/kylington and sign a ufa then trade for severson. Could sign brodie vatenenor barrie for free for example while reatocking the cubboards in a deep draft.

I would also really try and avoid buying out lucic. Maybe you could send him with new jersey trade to balance out caps

Swap Parsons for Wolf and it's closer... Parsons hasn't developed to have any kind of value
