Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 30, 2020
Published: Sep. 30, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Marner must play with Tavares. Marner drives a line the way Tavares used to. Inorder to get value out of Tavares, Marner needs to be on his wing. Matthews is like Sundin and can drive the line and Nylander on his wing is a top notch winger to play with. Matthews looks like he had a snarl on and maybe plays with more of an edge and drags Willie into some battles.

Lots of goalies out there. I see you post about all of my bad options in net. Who do you propose? I think Freddie's contract proposes too much of an opprtunity to use him to acquire assets like a DMAN and get a good/aging goalie cheaper than $5M

MAF at 3.5M for 2 years??? why not

i told you why, because he's bad, you can also add old to that if you want which means he's gonna get worse more than likely.
And my idea? Keep freddy unless you can get a better goalie. a cheaper goalie is only good if you can still win games with him and this Fleury idea does not do that. Remember that month or two where freddy was hurt and or recovering? you want that all season? because that's what MAF gets you

Because vegas isn’t retaining half his salary, and just trade him to you for nothing

I did not mention in the notes. The "trade" only reflects MAF being bought out by Vegas and the leafs signing him at that number for 2 years.

I do remember that, and I also remember Hutchison as the backup. Campbell, while he cannot be a platoon guy, is good enough to play a 10 game stint in an emergency.

Tavares is not a great skater. Can we agree that Nylander cannot drive a line like 34/16 and 91 used to? (see Moulson/Okposo/Bailey contracts)... I think Marner gets more and better years out of Tavares, and 34 brings the best out of Nylander.

Tavares is a fine skater, and Nylander can drive a line just fine. And Marner hasnt driven a line yet in his career, JVR, bozak and marner all took turns the first year and then tavares did last year and Matthews did this year. Tavares Nylander worked very well and it's kinda amazing that people wanna split them up because he had a bit of a down scoring year when he broke his damned finger. Not only did he score at a really good rate still, his assists ballooned because Nylander scored the goals instead

Duuuuuuude.... nobody is saying 72 games... you mentioned MAF injury, and i was pointing out IF he got injured for a month, Campbell is better than Hutchison playing dodgeball

I think you bother me because your from London, lol. May as well be from St. Thomas.

Well.. Its my view that Tavares would be better with Marner... probably both hit 100pts, and Nylander would get those points/goals with Matthews... Nylander entering the zone and button hooking to the outside is the biggest pet peeve I have with the leafs. Its probably your favourite play

i love this projecting people do when they get all defensive. "Oh? you dont like my idea? YOU must love this thing that i think is bad, haha, i am implying you cannot analyze hockey and are dumb!" serously, get over it. The point i am making is that both lines are very productive no matter which winger you put with which center and neither pairing is holding the other one back like you are implying Nylander is holding tavares back.
As far as Nylander's button hook, well it may not work all the time but it is endlessly more effective than marner slowing down to 2 miles an hour at the top of the circle and waiting for someone to make a million dollar pass to and then getting swamped by the defence and having to either carry it into the corner or get the puck taken off him after he's funnelled into the boards if his center doesnt save him.

Why would you say ANA don't need Kerfoot? They didn't make the bubble

If Kerfoot is a LW, where would he play among Rackell, Heinen, Milano, Jones and Comtois?

If Kerfoot is a C, where would he play among Getzlaf, Henrique and Steel this year or Henrique, Steel and Zegras next year?

Manson, on the other hand, is one of the only two NHL-qualified RDs we have.

Dude that doesn't effect much lmao. Manson sucks. Simple as that. If the leafs wanted him they would have got him by now.

You said Holl was a shutdown defenseman. Shutdown guys don’t start most of their shifts in the Ozone. You leaf fans are delusional. It’s insufferable.

When you have nothing to say so you put caps lock on and change the subject and are still wrong. Typical leaf fan...

Holl started in the defensive zone more than anyone else on Toronto. His OZS% is 39%

The guy you're arguing with is a giant doofus but Holl is a shutdown defenseman.

Hey im just teasing you by the way... Must be from Lambeth with all that emotion... Never said Nyander was holding JT back, Just that I don't think Nylander drives a line the way Tavares USED to, Matthews does... I think Willy is a VERY good player but needs the star on his line to perform, vs lifting up good players to look like starts... make sense? I am suggesting JT will slow down these next few years.
