Trading 5th overall

Created by: sens65
Team: 2020-21 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 30, 2020
Published: Sep. 30, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Draft Yaroslav Askarov with the 12th pick.
The first two defence pairings play half-offence half-defence, while the third pairing with Mike RIelly and Brannstrom will just run up the score with their offence.
Also, I'm assuming Nilsson does not come back.
Hawryluk and Paul are interchangable in the 4th line LW role.

What makes you think Rossi will be available at #7? Rossi is a legitimate target by Detroit at #4 anyone that thinks it's definitely Cole Perfetti doesn't know Yzerman very well.

I thought so for a bit now I’m fairly confident it’s gonna be Stutzle at 2

You shouldn't trade down if you want Rossi.

New Jersey takes Drysdale at 5. Ducks take Rossi at 6. That's assuming Detroit passes on him at 4... for Raymond or Perfetti.

Basically you could be trading Rossi for Perfetti.

Trading down is running the risk that New Jersey takes Rossi at 5 (and says thank you very much) or Anaheim takes him at 6. As @Leafs_and_Sens_Fan says, if you want Rossi, you shouldn't be trading down.

Moving from 7 to 5 is a really big deal, I'd take the 20th pick instead though

I'm pretty sure they'd take Drysdale over Holtz any day of the week but if they want Holtz they definitely shouldn't trade up.

There's a difference between a D prospect and a guy that could potentially be as good as Cale Makar or Quinn Hughes.

I wouldn't want to trade down anyway. I'm just trying to answer your question. If you disagree that's fine.
