That’s a hard pass from Detroit. Zadina was picked 6OA two years ago. We’re not moving him to move up one pick.

I figured as much, hence it's a gamble.

Think OTT could add a piece to the exchange, but what it should be...

No chance the difference in value from 3 to 4 is Zadina, you're out of your mind. Yzerman would laugh his azz off

Which is why it's a gamble.

It wouldn't be a bad decision to just draft that C - but potentially having two quality forwards might be alluring option if DET's willing...but I doubt they are.

There's no need to be hostile. The title literally says it's a bit of a gamble. If DET is truly after that potential franchise C, the cost is going to be enormous.

And as I said, I think OTT could add a piece here.

Sabres take that, I think. We really need a RW, but I'm not gonna say no to a two-way, 40pt centerman. There's a decent probability that Mittelstadt either needs to go to the wing or doesn't cut it at all.

What's his extension look like? Similar to Kerfoot? Because I'm also okay with that.

Can not see Wings giving up Zadina and their only starting goalie to move up one spot. Seems to me be an overpay. Zadina was a former tip 6 draft pick and was having good year before he was hurt.

Rebuilding teams just can not trade 2 assets for one.

I will say that I think this trade might be closer in value than most Wings fans think. If we really want to move up into the top 3, we’d have to include a pretty big piece and not just spare parts like some people like to propose in their mock trades. I just think that the Red Wings will be in the basement of the league for a few more years so no need to overpay to move up one spot when we’ll likely have the chance to draft a potential franchise centre in the coming years.
