I wouldn't do that Anaheim deal as a Rangers fan ... ADA is worth keeping if we can and while Lundestrom could be a future top-6 player, he isn't yet, and I like our chances of being a playoff team next year.

DeAngelo's cap isn't gonna fit if wed go after Dunn, even more so with Lundkvist on the way. I want Dunn over DeAngelo. Paying 4.5 mil + to play him on the third pair isn't gonna work. Better to get some young cheap assets at a position of need like C...

With the inclusion of Bozak I dropped the prospect level a bit considering the extra cap. This deal plus buying out or dumping Steen somewhere would give you guys enough cap to keep Pietro. It's up to you though and I understand your point...

For the umpteenth time bozak has positive value. Now that we're retaining half of his salary you need to pay more for him. Blues have plenty of cap for Petro. And even without including bozak, those 3 pieces don't get you Dunn.

Bozak at 5 mil won't get much of a return. Teams aren't trying to add salary this offseason. But there isn't much on the FA market as far as Cs go. He's not negative value, but not easy to move either. Think he's worth more to the blues then other teams

Plenty of cap for Pietro? As things stand they have 5 mil in space with Dunn and Pietro unsigned...

You really can not expect to clear cap and get maximum value it’s really one or the other, but your right Bozak at 50% does have positive value. Maybe Steen half retained might fit better?

Moving Bozak, Sanford, and Gunnarsson would be enough room for Pietrangelo and Dunn. I think they could figure it out, even if they had to attach a pick to bozak. Either way, using dunn to shed cap to sign Petro sounds like a bad idea to me. Hopefully they have a better plan.

Agreed moving Dunn is the last resort...
