If Patrick plays this upcoming season he will not be exempt.

You're right, for some reason I thought it was 3 pro seasons, not 2. If he was exempt i would say he is close to worth trading for but since hes not that changes things

I cant foresee taking Patrick back as the core piece in a trade, I think you still need Frost.
By all accounts Patrick may never play in the NHL, he's been injury prone since his draft year and has a severe inner ear problem which has set him back significantly.
Its a gamble at this point.

Yup, it’s a gamble but Myers is the main piece.

They wont select Gio, he only has 1 year left then retires. They will take Kylington, Backlund, or Bennett.

Kylington would be expendable as well. Seattle might be okay with taking a leader on the blue line though.

Meyer's is not a main piece, he's a steady 5/6th defenseman who the Flames could of had for free 2 years ago at Development camp.
He'd also have to be protected, its simply not enough for Johnny.

Yes they made a mistake, 5/6? No he’s top 4 and he’s good.

i expect them to be getting Burns from the Sharks and probably someone like Skjei or Gardiner from Carolina. Might get Ekholm too. I imagine they will look for a young player from us

They shouldn’t touch burns without a 1st coming back from the sharks.

Burns was a ppg a year ago, Sharks will probably pay to move him though. Wont cost a 1st but maybe a 2nd.
