I seriously doubt Andersson ends up in Detroit. He's more famous for his epic temper tantrums than he is for his actually play..

Pretty common rhetoric for people who don't know him at all.

Yzerman owes the Rangers one for the Staal/2021 2nd trade.
After doing some research, I underestimated Erik Gustafsson he will be 7M + cap hit.
Have to make an edit

I would be surprised if Gustafsson makes 5M AAV

That's fine so you can keep him. Throwing his silver medal form WJCs in to the stands and then walking out on his team mid season. You are right I don't know him and after his temper tantrums I have no desire to know him.

It doesn't matter Yzerman isn't going to bring him to Detroit. When Drouin held out he was traded first chance he got. He comes to Detroit and trades AA who held a couple of season ago.

Oh I don't doubt that from Yzerman. Just mean in terms of a trade elsewhere.

What a joke, Andersson is nowhere near worth a 3rd round pick. You'd be lucky to get a 4th for him.

For the cost of a 3rd I would take a chance on Lias Andersson.

And for what I've picked up on this site you wouldn't be the only Detroit fan here that feels that way. Not me I think he should be avoided.

Fair enough. But consider the odds that a 3rd round pick will pan out. In the last 20 years the only 3rd rounder that turned out to be a great pick / amounted to anything for Detroit was Valtteri Filppula. Granted we've gotten lucky with a few 4ths (Athanasiou and Nyquist) and 5ths (Helm, Jensen and Mrazek) since 2000. After Filppula, you have to go wayyy back to the late 80's and early 90's to see 3rd round picks that turned into gold for Detroit (Lidstrom, Osgood, Kozlov). And consider in today's draft, where Lidstrom, Osgood and Kozlov were all drafted, they'd actually be 2nd round picks now. I just feel the odds that Lias Andersson could actually pull his game together in the NHL are much higher than the odds a 3rd round pick will come to fruition. Talent gets very watered down by then.

I really don't care about the pick at all. It's the player I don't want mostly because he is a selfish little brat. Throwing his silver medal into the stands at the WJCs and then he walks out on his team mid season. JP, Honka and Nylander all held out but they had the decency to do it at the start of the season where their teams at least had some to time to replace that player or find a stop gap solution until the player does sign. But walking out midseason with no warning is just very selfish. I have a hard time believing that Yzerman would bring him to Detroit.
