What does Domi want for contract?

If he is unsigned, NJD gives the 3rd for him.

He is still RFA for the next 2 seasons.

I don’t know if NJD would want him, but PIT gave up a 1st for Kapanen... Domi getting the Habs a first isn’t totally unrealistic.

Maybe NJD won’t, someone else might.

PIT gave a 1st for a cap friendly contract with term not the ability to talk a deal with the guy for 30 days. Big difference. Domi is a 2nd liner, soft skill so only slightly better than Kap and Kap gives a decent PK... you would get a 2nd or 3rd max

Also I doubt Hall gets over 8. I put him closer to 6.5/7

I meant on RFA deal. If he signs a cheaper deal, MTL could get more for him. If he signs 7 years x $6 million, MTL wouldn't get a 1st for him. If he signed 3 years x $4 million, they probably would.



Since Domi can play wing and center, I think almost any team could be in the running. I could see NJD move for him if he signs reasonable contract. But I doubt he is their first choice.

My guess it would be more like

Domi/late pick for 1st
Domi/Alzner for lesser piece
