it's andersen

my god people, how do you constantly spell it incorrectly? you have to stare at the name when you add it to a trade.

Awful value for Carolina, and why would they give Andersen that contract?

Even with extension Carolina ain’t giving up that much.
If I was a gm interested in Andersen I wouldn’t be asking for an extension in place take my chances on acquiring for rental cost and then negotiate with his agent afterwards.

That is a very good contract, especially considering that he could ask for up to 7. It's only a 1 million dollar raise from his last one. You would be extremely lucky to get him on that deal

Canes pass. Andersen is too much of a risk for that contract. We wouldnt trade one of the best values to sign a risky deal. We could sign a better one in FA without giving up Pesce.

A top but not blue chip prospect and a starting goalie (likely worth an early first, late second) for a first pairing, but not stud defenseman (he's your third best defenseman at most), doesn't seem crazy to me

Pass on Khudobin. Dude is 34 and has had a somewhat inconsistent career. Has never really been a starter. I would sign him to be in Campbell's spot, essentially as Dallas did as insurance (and worked out great), but I am leery to trust him to be a starter

I don't think anyone values Andersen at this point. Hank just went on the market and I'd take him for free over Andersen. Hank was actually good considering the awful defense in NYC. Too many goalies available to spend anything on Andersen. You'd go for Fleury w/retention or Murray if you want to send something back

Andersen is a mid tier starting goalie and a rental. Value is virtually nothing

For all the TML fans trying to dump Andersen for a nice return so you can sign a similar G for less and then saying those teams should be so lucky.. it’s the equivalent to pissing on someone and telling them it’s rain. We all know he is good, we all know it’s a cheap G market with many available.

Why wouldn’t CAR just sign Khudobin to that contract and keep pesce to be a stud in front of him. You need to work around keeping Andersen..

Think Dubas is considering the same. He's not actively shopping Andersen but he's open to offers.

Upper midtier but sure. Value would be high 2nd I'd think.
