I hope the Canucks don't acquire OEL, and I REALLY hope they don't acquire him for this package.

See the problem here is that ARI is looking to save money. Taking Eriksson not exactly saves them money, so the trade kind of loses its purpose.

If OEL gets dealt to Nucks, I expect the return being something like Baertschi+Stecher+Juolevi+2021 1st...

They are trying to cut Actual Salary, not cap hit.
Going from OEL + Keller to Boeser + Eriksson saves them over 12M in the next 2 years in salary.

I think they're trying to save a bit of both.

Regardless, Eriksson brings nothing to the exchange. He just decreases the value of the package. Also after signing Keller into that 8 year deal I don't see any point in moving him.

Eriksson is negative value yes, but he's a contract that has to go out to bring the big contracts in. Owed less money than his cap hit isn't a problem for teams like that. And Keller has been rumored on the block because his salary is high.
