Description
This AGM is mainly to explore what would make a Tony D for Gostisbehere trade have somewhat equal value. Obviously Tony D has a lot more value than Ghost Bear. But what will it take to make the trade equal?

Things I do not know:

1. Whether Ghost Bear actually sucks now or if he's just not being used well in Philly and just needs a change of scenery. Does he actually add value to a trade, or is he negative value?

2. How highly Morgan Frost is valued in Philly. Pronman had him listed as their 4th best prospect, so maybe this is too much going back to NYR?

Philly says no thanks. They're a tight nit defensively minded group, I don't think DeAngelos playstyle or personality would fit in Philly at all

I mean it's one thing if the value isn't right. But almost every other Flyers AGM I see on here has them adding someone at RD. And to say that Tony DeAngelo of all people wouldn't fit in Philadelphia because of his personality is......well maybe you have a higher opinion of Philadelphia than I do

DeAngelo is genuinely one of the most, if not the most hated players in the league off the ice. It's gone on record many, many times that the Flyers are super close as teammates and that they get along super well. DeAngelo absolutely does not fit that culture.

As for imply Philadelphia is a place built for obnoxious personalities well... I don't know what to tell you other than that's stupid logic

I think Deangelo would actually be an interesting option for PHI as he could really add some juice to their PP. Personally, I don't really like him as I think he's one-dimensional, not-that-great defensively, and is going to want a big raise - maybe he's worth it, maybe he's not. But he would be a good replacement for doing what Ghost does at a similar cap hit. Not sure if PHI is giving up Frost for him, but he may be an option for them.

Provorov - Niskanen
Sanheim - Deangelo
Hagg - Myers

That could be a pretty good top 6 for them giving them a good mix of defense, offense, and size.

But he also does have a reputation as not having the best personality, as some have already commented on here - so that is something to consider in any Deangelo deal.

I'll admit it's anecdotal, and Lord knows the Rangers have more than their fair share of ****head fans, but of the few arenas I've been to in Rangers gear, the Philly fans were the ****ing worst.

And for all the talk about how hated Tony D is and how awful his personality is, he grew up in Sewell NJ right outside of Philly so...

Philly fans do have a bad reputation...but I myself will certainly not categorize all Philly fans based on the behavior of I'm sure a handful of jerks...and Philadelphia is not alone in having a few fans like that.

As far as ADA...would really like to know what your source is as far as being the most hated player off ice...he has had issues in the past- but those seem to be behind him. In the NYR locker room there is no evidence of him being a problem- and in fact- the other players seem to adore him. His political views are not in line with the main stream media and entertainment culture...but if that is required in your locker room- then he's certainly not your guy...but if that's what is looked for in any player- then that sounds a bit intolerant

I could care less where he stands politically, the dude has gotten in trouble on multiple occasions for calling other players the N word and more recently decided to start a podcast about "challenging PC culture" less than a week after George Floyd was murdered. Even if you somehow argue the dude isn't actually a rascist, I still don't want that much of a tone-deaf dope on a team I cheer for

Don't listen to his podcast...so I can't comment on the content of that topic...so I don't know what makes him "tone deaf"...maybe you can elaborate further...the only thing I can go on with him is that at this point he seems to be a positive in the Ranger locker room...funny how those with far left views...many who embrace rap music- some of which references women as "****es and ho's" and promotion of drugs and violence- don't face the same rap that ADA faces for opposing the narrative imposed by the prevailing pop culture.
