He's young (on ELC still) and he's got high potential, he should develop into a top 6 guy who is affordable for a few more years and could be really good long term, so he basically is untouchable at the moment.

Why is Caigary trading a 1st for Kuemper when they can sign a UFA like Holtby or Markstrom?

Markstrom is going to want way more than 4.5 but frankly was a below average starter until this year which should be concerning to those looking to sign him.

Calagry isn't trading dube but they will trade their first. now you are saying they aren't trading their first because there are goalies like holtby and Markström out there. I am going by the rumors that have been reported. I saw Calgary is still very interested in Kuemper and want him. I have heard nothing about Holtby. Markstrom, there is interest but the price is going to be steep.

what would be your counter offer. I definitely thought it was a lot but for a high caliber guy like OEL I think thats the price Boston is willing to pay to get them over the hump.

Holtby is an Alberta boy. You don't think he'd take less to come back home? Keep the 1st. Kuemper is flavour of the day.

just because he is a hometown boy doesn't mean he is going to Calgary though. There hasn't been any reports (to my knowledge) of interest in Holtby

There have been reports about Calgary being interested in signing Markstrom. Why would Calgary trade away a 1st round pick for Kuemper who has 1 year left on his contract? If he walks next summer then you traded away a first for a rental goalie.

because Markström's asking price exceeds 5 mill. Plus the talks of Kuemper are very serious and the reports say the deal can get made at any time

Kuemper is signed for this season (2020-2021) and also next (2021-2022).

It's Arizona's 2020 second that they forfeited, not the 2021.
