Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Anderson, Josh [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Teams swap 2nd/3rd line wingers that have both outperformed their draft selections, but recently battled injury.(CBJ gets a higher skilled winger, TOR gets a more physical winger)
2.
TOR
  1. Pulock, Ryan [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Isles will be pressured to move bad contracts this season to resign big RFA’s, Pulock being one of them. If they can’t move enough money around, 15th oa this year replaces Pulocks draft pick from 2013, 2021 2nd (conditional) turns into a 1st in 2021 if TOR make the ECF.
Bracco + 4th sweetens the pot. This deal gives NYI an immediate draft pick this year as well as a chance for an additional 1st in 2021. Better return than a possible offer sheet (2021 1,2,3)
NYI
  1. Bracco, Jeremy
  2. 2020 1st round pick (PIT)
  3. 2020 4th round pick (VGK)
  4. 2021 2nd round pick (TOR)
3.
TOR
  1. Khaira, Jujhar
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Oilers add speed and versatility in the top 6

Leafs add bottom 6 grit/depth while shedding some salary

21 man rosters don't work. Rodriques and Khaira as 3rd and 4th centres...doesn't work at all. Why is Bracco included in a NHL trade?

Am I missing something but your saying oilers are adding speed and versatility in the top six but offering kerfoot? I wouldn’t really want kerfoot for either of those pieces at least jj is a strong pk player and rather the future third then paying kerfoot to loose draws and provide nothing to any special teams. Cheaper much better options for 3c which by the way is not a top six position.

Add Robertson and the isles consider.

The isles won’t have problem moving contracts. Cizikas and Leddy aren’t cap dumps.

Okay so maybe don’t resign Rodrigues/spezza and sign a more suitable 3c in FA. Bracco is still a young prospect if you don’t know who he is, he is pretty talented. Just needs to find his way in a new system imo.

So correct me if I’m mistaken but in that Columbus trade both players had the same career year which is two seasons ago when both stayed healthy. Johnsson had 20 goals Anderson had 27 but your suggesting Columbus is adding the more skilled player? To me it seems Columbus is getting the lesser player with pricer contract.

I bet he’d provide more than AA did for you guys, and that cost only cost two 2nd’s and Sam Gagner, right?

Of course you disagree, because you want pulock. The isles have already received calls on Leddy.

Take a look at their NHL career stats real quick. If anything Johnsson posts a stronger PPG than Anderson. One season doesn’t define a trade.

Do you think you’d match an offer sheet at 6m?

100%. It would take at least 7.5 mill for isles to take the compensation

I have a question for you and @AndrewLadd do you guys think lou would accept a 2nd for Mayfield? If not what would be the cost or is he to valuable to your team?

I guess you can make the argument that he’s worth it on an 8 year term, but he won’t get that much.

I would hope he accepts a 2nd for mayfield. He’s not that good.

He’s a 3rd pairing Dman on a contract slightly below market value- a 3rd rd pick? I’m sure some GMs will overvalue him because trotz uses him in a 2nd pairing role

No but one might put some weight in the last healthy season each had which does happen to be that year. I know I would.

So the answer for one mistake is getting another bottom six player with term this time and expect to preform in a role well above weight class?
