    Stepan could be on a league min deal and ge still wouldn't be worth a 2nd.

    That would be a miserable OEL return if that’s all we can get we should sit on him. Overselling on Stepan and underselling on Raanta

    Sticking with the OEL trade, just because in my opinion we're not going to get as much in return as we would like. And moved Stepan to a 4th round pick, seems much more realistic than a 2nd.

    I see your point, but Stepan is still a very capable NHLer. I can see Ottawa taking a look at him because of the leadership he brings, as he can help their young players. And Ottawa won't mind taking on that kind of contract.

    It's a matter of leverage though. Everyone knows everyone knows Arizona needs to shed salary, and even if he's still a useful he's not better than a bunch of options who will be available for way cheaper.
