You tried it with Aho.
Barzal almost made it to the cup with a worse supporting cast.
This is the fiest montreal team i can see competing at center with the Lightning, Boston and Toronto.
At least you have a chance in the middle.
Not my fault you have 15 million in net.

Matt barzal is a fine centre but not worth more than 8. He doesn’t get us anywhere. Also our problem is not between the pipes

WAY to much for Barzal.

Habs don't need another small centerman. They need size on the wing. How does it make sense to give 11M to one player when that player won't make you any better

Money wise it is.
Look at every other teams percentage of Cap.
The only team wasting more money blueline back on old people is the Sharks and look what happened when one of their horses went down.
Why do you need a 4 million dollar backup?

And disagree look at Barzals playoff and rookie numbers.
He is better than Jack Eichel and is certainly worth 10 or more on a 5 year deal.

You need centers that will make a difference not just fill a spot.
Then JK can grow and you have an unreal 3C.
Like i said. Remember you are fighting for 3 spits behindnthe Lightning Bruins and Leafs.
Ottawa will be good in 2 years. Your window of Webber and Price is now.

Can you please look what he did as a lone ranger on the Island. He would make such a difference.
Did you watch the Playoffs?

Barzal's definitely worth more than 8... on a 5 year deal he gets at least 9.5M.

A 60 point centre. Every was going mental over his playoffs when he was still a 60 point player

60 in 68 games. Can you do math
85 in roolie season
That would be the best of any montreal player over the last 5 years.......

62 year before, 63 playoff pace, 72 Pace this season. So he barely gets past 60’s points if the year continued. He had a nice rookie year back when that tavares guy was still there.

And you think with JK and Danagut that he wouldnt get a better matchup. How much with JK grow.
Also imagije Drouin and Tatar having that kind of playmaker.
Dude im a Leaf fan, im trying to understand your GM. Unless he has a different 1C in mind i think this is the most logical way to compete.

Btw should be 10.8 so its only 2 firsts.
The Islanders if they match that would be dead in the water for teams to devour their middle 6.

I’m a Habs fan and don’t understand our gm. But we’ve got kk and Suzuki as kids who are developing. Those are the future 1 and 2 c who should get more minutes this year.Barzal is a good player don’t get me wrong, but What this team needs is laine not barzal. We need someone who can put the puck in the back of the net 40 times a year.

Tampa Bay pays their starter 9,5 mil. They won the cup. That’s the only comparable mtl needs

They brought in Allen for 1 year because they didn’t want to rush Primeau and couldn’t rely on Lindgren

Their backup makes the min. Not 4. Whixh could have been used to help tge forwards.

I’m happy knowing they can rely on Allen for the next year. It’s been a huge question mark for the Habs over past years. He only has 1 year on the deal so it’s perfect. If you want to question a deal Bergevin made it would be Edmundson considering our left side is now overloaded. Not the Allen deal

Don't know what that proves, but he still isn't what the canadiens need. Too expensive for a position you don't need to add to.
