Eklund and my thoughts

TBL
  1. Bouchard, Evan
Additional Details:
Says "there may be other names as well, but those are the only two names I am hearing as of now".
EDM
  1. Sergachev, Mikhail [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
I'm not sure how I feel about this. Sergachev is one of my favorite TBL players but I also think he's the best trade candidate.

I like Bouchard and I feel like he'd be a really good fit on the Lightning, especially with Hedman. However, how soon could he make the jump to the NHL?

Also, what would this trade mean for Cal Foote?

Don't see him being more than a bottom pair guy next year. He's an OFD who had a solid AHL rookie season but he needs to work on his defensive game. Main issue I see is we can't have 2 RD coming up from the minors to play the bottom pair next year since Foote has proven he is probably ready to make the jump now. This is just another Eklund thing and it is overall a bad trade for Tampa. I would not do it

I guess it depends, if they have the capacity to insulate Bouchard much like they did Sergachev in his first season, that could prove to be valuable having 3 years of cap controlled term for a potential 1-2 d-man.

the question is, are they willing to accept the risk. I think they might, given the cap crunch this would be a viable option.

The opposite side of the trade though is the LD of Edmonton is pretty stacked with Kelfbom and Nurse, it would make one of them moveable (i'd get Nurse) and would help with puck transition.
their powerplay doesn't exactly need help when they stack Drai and McD together.

so not sure if it's a good fit for them.

I see you logic in trading Sergachev but I think he is worth more given his PP potential. Also if someone goes after him on offer sheet.. it probably gives Tampa a #1 and #3 should it go that way. Tampa needs to replenish picks.

The trade of Mc Donough if Serg doesn't go is one that I am curious on ..

Trading mcdonagh would be obviously the preferred route, but his contract and his NTC makes that tough

I must be in the minority on Mc Donough .. I think he is one of top 10 D in league.. just plays behind Hedmen and is rock solid D .. I guess folks here like the "flash" D some of which I think are HIGHLY over rated ( i.e. John Carlson and Karlson) .. he is 30 and makes 6.5M AAV .. shouldnt have issue for next 5 years of high value to a young team .. ie Colorado or Philly maybe?

I think if Sergachev is available Edm would offer the 14 pick and look to move nurse out to make room wouldn’t move Bouchard as he’s there only RD prospect and he’ll replace Larsson next yr I expect Bouchard will be in the line up the last 40 games of the season to get his feet wet on the 3rd pair the same model they used with Yamamoto when was set back down he was told he’d be in the AHL until the new yr.

Bouchard isn’t close to Sergachev value. And Tampa will want salary dumped even IF they think of trading Serge. Edmonton wouldn’t even have the cap space to sign Sergachev. He could be offer sheeted easily and Serge will in turn sign an offer sheet instead of being in Edmonton.

Oilers do not think Oscar klefblom will be playing this year.. Serg could draw Oilers #1 this year .. and next .. they desperate to keep Mc David .. maybe Tampa should package Johnson and Gourde as part of deal!!!

Unfortunately Oilers are a mess
Oilers are in cap hell. They couldn’t even take one of Gourde or TJ. They’ll probably let AA walk as they can’t afford his 3 million qualifier

Ha, I missed arguing with you!
Seriously though I'm glad you're back.

And I never want to see another Stamkos-to-Detroit trade again.

IF we tradrd Stamkos last year when I said to .. we STILL wouls have won Cup .. jave 2 #1s back and have no Cap problems with his 8m5M of the books .. I see I still have alot of work on all the "Stamkos fanboys" on this site!!!! ... although his injury makes him untradeable until next year now

And I never want to see another Stamkos-to-Detroit trade again.

If we traded Stamkos like I said.. we STILL would have won the Cup easily .. we would have 2 #1s back AND we would have no cap issues with his 8.5M gone

I AM LEGEND .. dont ever forget it!!!

Ps.. Stamkos injury makes him untradeable now to next year .. Tyler Johnson is object if my utter disdain now

The Lightning organization and execs wouldn't dare trade Stamkos right now.
Our cap issues this summer did not affect our play in the playoffs.

And yes, we'd still have an insanely good team without Stamkos. But his presence gave the team the morale boost to get over the top. I think most series have "that goal" where you just know the team is going to win. For me, that was the Stamkos goal in Game 3. It was meant to be.

At least we can agree that Johnson needs to be launched into the Bay.
I watched Game 6 with my family and we all noticed how he was skating with difficulty that night. He just looks so slow.

You’ll have to pay with picks to move TJ. Without many in the cabinet, this is where I think alex Killorn domino has to fall first. Trade Alex for a late 1st or protected 1st next year or 2nd and 3rd this year.
Then move some of that so TJs contract gets eaten along with Paquette.

The problem is if anyone offer sheets Cernak at 4.1 million (max before 1st return) they are screwed.
Get Cernak signed first and Killorn traded. Those to me are the priorities after going through some scenarios.

I disagree only with the last sentence.
Cirelli is priority #1 this offseason. I am fine with letting Sergachev AND Cernak go if it means we keep Cirelli.

Of course he’s more important then whatever is offered Sergey or Cirelli. Simply. You can’t match Cernak at 4.1. Get him signed around 2 million short term bridge. I wouldn’t be worried about the two big fish. You match regardless
