Carolina say keep adding.

Why?

They get a high 2nd in a deep draft and dump over $7M in cap without taking any back. They take this and run.

Canucks wouldn't give up Boeser to get rid of Eriksson. He's owed 1 million dollars this yr and he a middle 6 player. People are going a bit nuts on cap dump value.

Canucks say no, but how about Ristolainen for Virtanen, Juolevi and 2021 3rd and 2022 3nd?

Reimer and Gardiner aren't cap dumps. You can get a 2nd for Gardiner and a 2nd + for Reimer

Well have to disagree there. No team is going to pay a 2nd to take on Gardiner for 3 more years and no team is going to pay a 2nd for a backup goalie in the current saturated goalie market.

Reimer again isn't a backup. He's a .914 goalie making 850k in a pandemic. That's highly desirable

Gardiner would be worth more stereotypically. He's not had a bad year.

Reimer appeared in 25 games last year, Mrazek 40. Who appears to be the backup? He’s a backup dude, easier to just accept that,

Gardiner had the worst season of his career last year. He currently holds negative value.

Uh... Reimer has a dFSv%, GSAA, and xGSA that were all top 10. Just because Rod is an idiot doesn't mean reimer isn't a starter. It's easier to accept the stats.

Gardiner did not have a bad year. His xGF was right where it usually was. People look at +/- to say "oH hE's Sh*t" and it's just wrong. His xGA while negative, was where it usually was. Hell, he wasn't even the worst LHD on the team (Joel Edmundson) last year. He does not hold negative value, and anyone who thinks that needs to look at some stats

Perhaps there’s a reason Rod is an NHL coach and advance stat junkies such as yourself are not. Backup goalies can have good stats too. If you’re trying to argue that Gardiner was actually “good” last season, well, not really sure what to say there...

Easy no from the Caps. Tons of better options than Hutton in free agency, and Jensen’s probably gonna end up being the Caps’ 2RD.

No, advanced stats junkies like myself run teams. The best analytical mind in hockey is Eric Tulsky after all, Carolina's vice president of Hockey Ops... maybe if you'd know this, you'd know what the team thinks and understand certain decisions a little more

Hope all those advanced stats examination sessions have prepared you for Reimer to be dealt for a 4th to a team needing a backup and Gardiner dealt 1-1 for another team’s underperforming player on also on a bad contract.

Despite the fact rumour is Reimer's asking price is already a 2nd and Gardiner again isn't being traded? Wow, you really just don't like facts.

Pls point to a rumor with any substance that lists the asking price for Reimer Iis a 2nd...I’ll wait...and you’ll come up with nothing.

They’ve been shopping Gardiner for a while, need some proof, here ya go:

There’s way more substance there than your pitiful claim the asking price for Reimer is a 2nd...please. You’re completely delusional if you think they wouldn’t jump at the chance to deal Gardiner for any shred of positive value.

You're using 31 thoughts? Really? You know 95% of that is speculation. Try Lebrun's twitter and then tell me who's delusional 😂😂😂

What the one where he says the Canes are more than willing to listen on Gardiner?

Perhaps you think Craig Custance is more credible:

https://theathletic.com/1517143/2020/01/08/nhl-trade-big-board-28-players-who-could-move-before-the-deadline/?source=user_shared_article

Either way, seems like I am able to backup my claims. Care to back up yours?

Again, I can wait...it’ll take a while
