1. Why trade Zajac when the return is a 7th. Disrespectful. Zajac at that salary would return a 2nd at the minimum
2. What is the point of trading Palmeiri and a first for two players that aren’t as good as he is? Wouldn’t you rather keep the first and resign Palmeiri?

TBH, IMO Buffalo may consider that trade without the cap relief.
I know it is a lot of cap to take on but Travis has the talent to move to any of the center lines.
He can score and he can KP.
If either Mittelstadt or Thompson cannot make the team he would be there to fill their spots.
I think cap space could be made if needed.
Let's make a deal!

Zajac isn't gonna waive his NTC and Devs aren't gonna need that cap space before the expire of his contract.
