It's fine for a regular season line-up, sheltering our younger wingers. Don't need to burnout our top-guys.

Not saying I don't believe but I don't think anyone in the league will sign Barrie to that. Especially not this offseason.

OTT declines, no room for larsson, already have Zeitsev, Brown and Zub as RD signed and Jaros still to resign, + Brannstrom

I don't think Edmonton makes that trade either. I think it would have to be a hockey trade, player for player, need for need. Only way I see this trade happening is if it's when the Oilers are picking and everyone they want isn't there, which I highly doubt because guys will fall if that happens and someone will be there that has more skill then anyone they wanted, or the Bruins need to clear room for someone else they have convinced to sign in Boston. And even then Oilers would have to make cap room for Debrusk. Plus theres a good chance especially in the years draft for a player or several that will be available with a higher ceiling then Debrusk.

Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun is now reporting Barrie could be looking for an eight-year deal with an annual average value of $8 million-https://lastwordonsports.com/hockey/2019/07/11/tyson-barrie-contract/

    Ottawa can take that.

They start Brannstrom and Zub in Belleville, and call them up at some point. Ottawa can trade Larsson at their leisure, or keep him to pair with Brannstrom when he is brought up. This costs Ottawa nothing, future considerations, but effectively nothing, and gives them an asset that can help mentor a fellow countryman in Brannstrom, or be traded for another asset. Players get hurt, and callups occur.

    Chabot Zaitsev
    Wolanin Larsson
    Russell Brown
    Reilly

    Brannstrom Zub
    Lajoie Thomson
    Englund Jaros

Russell cap hit is $4MM, actual salary remaining $1.5MM
Larsson cap hit is $4.167MM, actual salary remaining is $5.1MM

Total cap hit of $8.167MM, total actual salary remaining is $6.6MM, or $1.5MM less than the cap hit combined.

His numbers are comparable (nearly identical) to Krug over the last 3 seasons. Not saying he'll get $8 mil, but he's in the same category as Krug.
