I know you said these will never happen, but I still have to address how awful that Vrana trade is. Caps are getting a depth forward and two mid round picks for an emerging 30 goal scorer. Yikes.

It's their second Vrana trade this bad in as many days.

And it's over the cap. Maybe they meant Copley? If so, keep the third. Had it with the fifth.

Minnesota would take that and run. Not only do we get out of Zuccarello's contract, but with only adding Hartman, we get back a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd as well as 2 centers. Kellman doesn't look like much, but it's a cheap 2 way deal and Gambrell seems like he has decent upside if he can figure things out. Either way, we move a trash contract, get 3 picks, and a couple lotto ticket prospects. Works out great for us.

You could offer a 2nd for Hartman+Zucc and MN should take it. Add in a couple of random AHL roster fillers going back to MN to offset the 50 man roster hit if you need to.
