What is it with the Leafs and former Ducks goalies?

Both Anaheim and Carolina decline. Neither Gibson or Necas are available.

two problems with the Marner to Anaheim deal:

1. Adding Marner but subtracting Gibson and Rakell doesnt put Anaheim in any better position to compete. It just changes their strength from goaltending to offense. Would Anaheim effectively make the trade and then try to sign Markstrom? that would be the plan but Anaheim has 800k in cap. So they couldnt without some serious cap moves that not a lot of teams are taking. They are in the same position they were the minute before making the trade.

2. Toronto has to make the Carolina move to make it all work and that isnt happening.

In what world does Andersen bring Necas back?

Why are Leafs fans so open to trading Marner? Is it just the contract?
