its amusing how the "only way to get pietro" threads always are built around getting owned in a trade for one of the big 4

As much as I don't watch Pietrangelo on the Leafs, I can't deny that's a good deal for the Sens.

Trading 11m Marner to a team that will take the the cap hit differential is difficult. Leafs will never get "on ice value" in a Marner trade if the Leafs want to gain big cap space. But this is a good suggestion that just might work for both teams.
In effect the Leafs trade Marner for Brown, a 1st and 2nd....and Pietrangelo.

This trade mirrors the name of the author....draft em...sign em....trade em

No they traded Marner for a bottom 6 winger, a late 1st and 2 seconds and there is no guarantee they sign Pietrangelo. As with everything from this clown who posted this, it's a terrible idea that hurts the Leafs. Which is what his aim is I'd wager. Just always wants to shoot himself in the face.

Not saying the Leafs should do the deal, or sign Pietrangelo, but if the Leafs do want to sign Pietrangelo, the trade suggested might be able only way it is done. Brown, had better offensive numbers than Kapanen last season...and Kapanen right or wrong was worth a 15 overall and last years second rounder to the Pens.

That Marner trade isn't even close. 3rd liner, Depth D-Man, late 1st , 2 2nds won't do it

I was considering asking for the 5th Overall pick, but I know that's an overpayment....I probably should have asked for two 1st and one 2nd, instead of one 1st and two 2nd.

Thanks for the Kapanen trade value reference, for that was a serious consideration when evaluating the trade value here.
