I mean, it's wrong feedback, but ok. Too many fans evaluate trades as fans rather than paying attention to what's actually happening and that's what you're doing. You can ignore the financial reality of your team, but that doesn't make it any less real.
You have $11.1M free.
Not including LTIR, you have 11 forwards, 6 dmen and 1 back-up goalie signed. You need to sign three to four players and Kubalik + Strome is probably going to take up around $10M to $11M.
Have fun putting your head in the sand about what's coming down the pike!
Dude, just because we have to trade someone doesn't mean we have to trade them to the Penguins.
Secondly, there are tons of factors that you aren't considering including:
Is Shaw and his 3.9M cap hit coming back?
What about Seabrook?
What about De Haan?
Is Zach Smith getting bought out or traded?
Is Ian Mitchell going to start in the NHL next season?
Is Strome and Kubalik going to accept bridge deals or want longer term contracts?
What about Koekkoek, Caggiula, Beaudin, Suter, etc.
What about Crawford?
What about Gilbert, Carlsson, etc..
Clearly you know nothing about the Hawks so just worry about finding someone to take Murray and leave us alone.
Also, there is zero chance that Strome and Kubalik make 10M combined.
