Hawks Pens

Created by: Mr_Gardoki
Team: 2020-21 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 4, 2020
Published: Oct. 4, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Multiple reports are CHI is interested in Murray.
CHI doesn't have the Space for Murray.
With Dach coming up, they don't necessarily need Strome although he'd be a luxury. McCann would be a bargain replacement for 3C.
Obviously if CHI really wants Murray they will have to find a way to make the space, so I won't speculate on how they do that.

I lost 10 IQ points reading your comment. So did everyone else. It's that bad.

Like I said, sorry that we don't think the player you are trying to push on us is any good. It's almost as if we harassed you for a Dylan Strome for Crosby trade and when you said you weren't interested, we harassed you for 4 pages of hockey forum threads.

It's kind of like Fleury, all you have to do is a reasonably below average job and the Penguins can win.

Yup. MAF was definitely below average the last year in PIT when he had a .924 save % 2.24 gaa and 4 shutouts in the playoffs.

When did I ignore the fact murray was awful in the regular season? Please show me

When you said that the Penguins were an awful team because they lost in a 5 game series against Montreal. When I showed you that they were 7th place in the league, you said it didn't matter and persisted to bring up the playoffs. Explain to me how that doesn't constitute "ignoring the regular season".

What do we have to do to get you to understand that we have no interest in Murray? I think Murray has negative value and I wouldn't even take him for free. Maybe he gets traded to Chicago and does a great job, in which case I'll love him. But at his current performance and likely contract requests, we don't have any interest in him.

Lol nope, I said Murray played awful on a great team. You said they were not a great team because they lost in the playoffs and continuously ignored the times that I said they were the 7th placed team in the league.

Again. How can they be a great team when they lost to the 24th team in the league lmao. Regular season means nothing.

Ok so then the Lightning, even though they put up record regular seasons totals were awful because they lost to Columbus? Makes sense.

When are the lightening hanging the banner for those regular season records? Back to my original point, Strome is a 3c. End of discussion

Ok so then there are 30 bad teams per year. So therefore everyone is the same level of skill unless you win the cup.

Like I said, I don't even care about Strome's value in this discussion. I just don't want Murray. I wouldn't take him if the Penguins decided to give him to us for free. He's a sub back up level goalie and he is not a good fit.

You seem very upset that Chicago doesn't value your players. Sorry, we just don't. I don't know what to tell you.

Hey, remember that one time when you said the Hawks don't want Murray?

Hearing CHI/PIT had Matt Murray conversations and the Blackhawks had permission to discuss an extension. Things did not work out, so everyone continues examining their options.

tears of joy

So why do you think you are trading a backup goalie who had a bad year for a 50 point 2C? tears of joy

What makes you think a "2C" will cost $3.3M?

I mean maybe Chicago was like, "Hey Matt, we'll give you 5 years at league minimum since your performance is awful. Honestly, you should be paying us to play here."

Actually they offered him the same as the Lehner deal, so again, the Hawks wanted him and were offering him good money. Sadly, Murray thinks he's worth over $6M which I'll agree is too much.

League minimum is too much. Also do you have a source on this matching Lehner deal thing or where is that coming from?

Google is your friend. Regardless. You were still 100% wrong as I said. The Hawks do in fact want Murray, so yeah.

Oh really? How do you figure? Hawks don't want Murray or they'd have him.

this guys logic --> "Hawks talked to Murray and couldn't agree on a deal" --> You see they wanted him

Obviously not enough

Also, can't find anything that says the Hawks offered 5 times 5 so if you are going to say that then provide a reliable source otherwise keep your opinions to yourself

So you're one of those people who can't admit when they're wrong? The Hawks were literally going to pull the trigger on a trade with the Pens if they could negotiate an extension. That means the team wants him. You said the Hawks don't want him. You were wrong. Plain and simple.

@Stan_Bowman

So just like us Hawks fans projected, Murray is worth a mid 2nd rounder and maybe a B or C level prospect; imagine that! laugh
