Description
The Sharks are currently trapped by many cumbersome contracts like Vlasic & Jones, lack of depth, and a weaker prospect pipeline. Next offseason provides more opportunity to move one or two big contracts with the expansion draft and a clearer idea of the league’s economic landscape. One way to jumpstart things would be to weaponize their younger players like Meier & Labanc who might not be longterm cornerstones, as well as some of their high picks. Not only do these trade values seem fair based off of speculation, they fill needs on both sides, as well as that stupid rumored Dubnyk-Donato deal.

MTL adds a legit young stud winger to their forward group not named Laine. NJD add an affordable young, local offensive forward to their dynamic young forward core. CBJ get their 2nd line center with some edge they’re looking for without giving up Elvis or Korpi. MIN clears cap space and two players that don’t fit as their house cleaning continues.

This is my attempt to revitalize the Sharks’ stale prospect pool by moving up to the 16th ov, and 21st ov, as well as adding Poehling, and Marchenko.

New UFA & RFA contract values seem fair based off of speculation. If any seem low, there’s still cap space to pay out a little more. Flame away.

Poehling would 99% playing 3C, he’s NHL ready, just stuck behind Domi Danault Suzuki Kotkaniemi in MTL

Right!! And Domi + 16OA should be enough for Meier and a 2nd. We could throw a B prospect in there to sweeten and Peohling stays in mtl

Basically your value for Meier 31OA and 34OA in this post is Peohling Anderson Marchenko 16OA and 21OA.

Jersey passes. If I’m trading Palmeiri it is for high picks and or young defensemen. If I am getting a forward it isn’t labanc who will be 25 when the next season starts.

Columbus has repeatedly said they won't trade Marchenko or 21OA. So this is DOA.
