What is the value of Gusev

Created by: NHLfan10506

Description
I am interested in hearing about others perception of Nikita Gusev. He rarely gets mentioned in ACGMs here and an article recently in The Athletic, which suggested he may be trade target, and mentioned that other GMs put a very wide range for valuing him.

Two questions:
1. If Gusev were a free agent this off-season, what sort contract is he getting?
2. If your team were to trade for Gusev, assuming with contract to extend, what sort of offer do you think is realistic?

(I can add the best offers to this post as they come)

Just under 5 million on a 4 year deal? And I think that would be one of the better contracts in FA considering his productions hasn't really met his impact iirc (underlying numbers). Maybe a later first or a second with an okay prospect? Nothing spectacular, but I think he's pretty good.

I think teams might see Goose as a slight risk given his shaky first season so probably a 2nd.

He had a much better second half to his season. Once they found him some d minded linemates he thrived. I would be signing him, not trading him and def not for a second.

Oh absolutely, I think we should hang onto him as well. That Bratt-Zacha-Gusev line was money at the tail end of the season.

That line of Gus-Zacha-Bratt was fantastic. The second half for those players is promising. We knew what Bratt could do but not the other two.
I never knew how good he was until he was placed with defensive minded players.
The same with Zacha. He was FINALLY given good offensive players and the same CONSISTENT line mates where he could develop a chemistry instead of just throwing him around the rotation.
A redraft still will not have Zacha at 6th overall. But this year we are going to see why he was drafted 6th overall. He is the kind of player you want to have on your team to win championships.
