Description
Unfortunately for the Bolts, I doubt any of their players with full NTCs will waive to go anywhere else.

Cirelli doesn’t bring back as much in a trade as he normally would because Winnipeg knows that Tampa Bay is up against a wall with the salary cap. Sergachev defers his payday a year so that the market can rebound and the Bolts can go for another cup. And the Bolts should be able to afford him because Johnson & Palat’s NTCs become a bit more flexible, and Seattle joins.

Traded somewhere for something. The return doesn’t really matter for what I’m trying to do, because it won’t affect the roster.

Why would he force the NTC in the first place?
Two 2nds for Cernak? Huge overpay

TB fans look at this totally wrong.
They should trade Stamkos. He's always hurt, and frankly they don't need him. He didn't win a cup this year. He played what 1 period. They don't need him.
Opens up 8+ million in cap, you'll be fine.

And the center market is terrible so someone will be willing.

Cirelli isn't getting traded, BriseBois trades both Killorn and Johnson and that gives him nearly $14M to work with. Probably still going to need to move one of Gourde or Palat as well.

Jets should make that Cernak trade.

The author of the post is correct, the Tampa player don't waive, So the lineup next October might look very much like this one

I'm trying to formulate an answer but I don't even know where to start since it's just an empty statement without backing

Last year I was ALL OVER trading Stamkos and sure enough.. we didn't...he gets hurt again and we win Cup EASILY without him.. so we didn't trade him and lost out on 2#1s and no cap issues ... as usual I am right.

With that said Tampa will not get value for Stamkos now due to injury so no trade now.. Next year? Oh yeah

LOOKING at roster.. the obvious choice we should be trying to get rid of is our 30M 3rd/4th liner .... GOURDE .. he cost us JT Miller last year and may cost us Killorn this year .. HUGE mistake by JBB

After reading all these posts, my thoughts are:
    1) How can you think this Cernak trade is overpay @Fel93 . Don't just look at his pts. He's worth 2x 2nds hands down.
    2) Stamkos has a full NMC. Johnson, Gourde (wtf?), Palat with their NMC/NTC....and Killorn has a 16-team NTC. I don't see any of them waiving those. Apparently TJ Johnson is in talks to do so but I don't see how the Lightning would get any type of return off of that.
    3) All that being said, it really looks to me that Cirelli or Sergachev are gone.

the point I'm making here though is you will get something for Stammer. There is nothing on the market for Centers, especially one who can play a top 6 role.
They will clean up. Multiple teams are looking and would take a chance. CBJ, BUF just to name a few.

This is under the assumption that no one (other than Coburn) waives their NTC. Because if you’re on the team that just won the Stanley Cup and has a great tax situation, why would you waive? In that case, I traded everyone I could, but I still only had room to re-sign one of the RFAs. I chose Sergachev because Stamkos can replace Cirelli’s role as 2C, whereas there’s no one to replace Sergachev.

If need be BriseBois will force one of them out, Probably Tyler Johnson he tells him either you waive or one of Detroit or Ottawa claims you off waivers as both need Center help desperately. Not much choice there same could possibly be said with either Gourde or Palat as well.

Even in advanced metrics he's ok but nothing exceptional (maybe the fact that Athanasiou and other RFA were payed the same is something you can count on if you're Tampa), I simply would not pay that for him. Think he is quite fine, don't get me wrong, but I would not invest two picks to get him, especially because he's a RFA and you can force the lower price if Tampa can't afford to resign him/needs to move him
