Trade Eichel before the draft

Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 5, 2020
Published: Oct. 5, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know, I know, Eichel won't get traded.
BUTTTT, I think Buf would be better off trading Eichel before this big draft and getting both of Ottawa's top 5 picks.
I'm curious as to whether the Sabres/Sens fans think who wins this.

That would get the ball rolling... Ottawa doesn't do it. Melnyk has no money right now so paying Eichel would be a no go. Two entry level players that might not even be paid big for the next 4 years is something that highly interests owners.

I personally think Ottawa is winning this trade. But it leaves us in a hole at LD

This doesn't make sense for Ottawa at all. They don't have the pieces around him to justify getting him now and it'll be a McDavid situation where they're perennially missing the playoffs by a few spots or losing in the first round

This would be a horrible idea for Ottawa. Eichel is a sick player, but Ottawa could just draft a 1st line center 3rd overall, and then still have two more potential star players in Brannstrom and the 5th overall pick. If I'm a betting man, I'd put my money on Brannstrom, Brown and let's say Stutzle and Raymond being way better over their full careers than Just Eichel.

It's not worth it for Ottawa to empty the bucket to add eichel.

Sens would just be in the same position that Buffalo is in currently. A superstar in Jack Eichel, and the only support he has is one great Winger and a 1D. Sens can fill out their lineup better and have a better team overall by keeping that package

Oh for sure and save the money. But In terms of the value it’s really not bad for what Jack Eichel does

Tx for the replies guys. Yea I personally think Buf wins this. Would Ottawa do it, no probably not. But I think this would be a better situation for Eichel considering Ottawa has other great prospects coming up.
I guess we'll see. But I'm sure Eichel will be traded within the next 2 years. Buff is so far away from making the playoffs.
