Two good trade offers from Pit and VGK fans

Description
Penguins fans don't think the Caps would trade them Hagelin back, but in the comments here, a couple of them said they would trade Zucker for Kempny, Hagelin, and a 3rd: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/376423?post_id=1838792

Vegas fans want to give the Caps McNabb and RFA rights to Stephenson for a 3rd: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/375963

I ran out of cap space to sign Stephenson, so I made it a high 3rd in 2020 for McNabb and a future 4th.

Posting to see if other Caps fans agree this is a good deal for WSH.
2.
WSH
  1. McNabb, Brayden
  2. 2021 5th round pick (CAR)
VGK
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
A Vegas fan suggested this here: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/375963

When no one saw it, they posted it again. Seems like they really want to trade McNabb and Stephenson to WSH for a high 3rd.

Caps can't really afford Stephenson, though, much as I'd like to see him come back. I mean, if he walks and has no offers, they should totally bring him back cheap. But I'm guessing he wants 1.5M.

As a Caps fan I'd love to do those but I can't see PIT doing that trade. They are already overloaded with LHD like us. I guess maybe VGK does that.

Pittsburgh isn’t trading the better forward and adding another dman that they don’t need. It makes Pittsburgh worse and more complicated on defense

i dont see why zucker is so cheap. Hagelin is a fine player i guess but with 3yl does he really have a ton of value? Zucker was good in his time with the pens and still has term at a reasonable cap hit for a top 6 forward. They also just moved a first and calen addison for him....idk why that pens guy wants that deal so bad lol

pitt gets fleeced in that deal... in a world where they sent a 2020 conditional 1st, addison (former 2nd round pick) and an nhl middle 6 back why are they trading for kempny a 3rd and hagelin?

If you read the thread where we came up with it, Pit fans started at a 1st and Hags for Zucker, which blows the Caps' cap and they pass.

Pit fans then signed an RHD worse than Kempny at a realistic $4.5M because the UFA market is weak and Kempny is secretly good at hockey.

I suggested that Dumoulin on his off side could get some offense going, and Kempny at LHD is a solid top four LHD. The kind of guy who doesn't stop you from winning a Cup, and maybe sometimes assists on the Cup-winning goal.

As an outsider, I'm guessing it's because Zucker has highs and lows but Kempny and Hagelin are always pretty good.

I'd add that it might be buyer's remorse after Zucker had two points in four games as Montreal eliminated the Penguins, and only one of his points came at even strength?

But if you want a recent 2nd round pick thrown in, how about Brett Leason?

It just doesnt make sense for pittsburgh. They already have too many dmen, and need to trade at least 1 of them, so singing one in FA doesnt make sense. They added Kapanen, and he is fast and plays on the pk like Hagelin, and the biggest difference is he is offensively better and younger.

I didn't start the conversation. I think it's more about buyer's remorse on Zucker's 5.5M under a flat cap than about desperately wanting Carl Hagelin back, though.

Zucker at 5.5 is fine. 99% of pens fans are happy with it, but obviously there are some people who are against it

No idea why we would trade Stephenson, but the McNabb move makes sense

im not a penguins fan. i just dont understand why you would judge any player based on the playoffs that happened with no preseason, crappy ice conditions, and 5 months off between games.

Thanks so much! I remember on your post, you had Hagelin back on the top line with Crosby. Is that mostly because of cap hit, or because Zucker didn't produce in the playoffs?

Zucker is from Los Angeles, and you don't think he can deal with bad ice conditions or lack of ice to practice on? Interesting take.

nobody was really ready for this playoff to happen. you wanna judge him how he played during the regular season with pitt fine, but condition was a major factor for every single team, bad ice was a condition for every single team. some had puck luck others did not. but the trade you suggested is criminal theft by washington.
