nah i would take that as OTT that's fine. TBL would trade cirelli before they let him get offersheeted for only a 1st +2nd though

Offer sheet gives a 1st and a third but all rfa become ufa tmrw at 5 if they don’t hit arbitration. I tried to make it realistic

Yeah they become UFA if they don't qualify him. But they will because hes a selke calibre centre. Dont think cirelli even has arbitration rights does he?

40+ point, top pairing d that plays 23+ mins a night, plays pk/pp, and makes less than $4m during flat cap seasons -- yeah, his value is higher than a late 1st.

True, I think the rangers have a much better chance at Danult but did cirelli for the hell of it

I would make the trade a first a fifth than if that’s still not enough I would add a offensive prospect

I think NSH would have interest in Chytil, Lindgren, Miller, and Buchnevich - some of those names may change the nature of the deal or may not be available at all, but I think those players make sense for NSH to target in an Ekholm deal.

NSH would just sign a UFA forward at that point. That UFA + Ekholm would have more value than Buch + 3rd. You're underrating the value of a top pairing defenseman that has a very good contract for 2 more season under a flat cap. Buchnevich is just a top 6 winger - he's good, but not great. There are a lot of those out there -- there are not many top pairing defenseman out there that are available via trade. So it would cost more than you think - especially with the flat cap and his contract.

you pricing him to high man. I’ve seen many articles abt him that have the same value as this trade. Seems like u as a fan charish him to more value than an analyst

If you want to show me those articles, I'd love to read them.

How many times is a top pairing defenseman traded? How many times is it for an underwhelming return?

If a top 2 defenseman becomes available, he will get a very good return. A 2nd line winger and a 4th is not enough. It's lower value than the 22OA + 7th that you offered originally. Buch is not worth 22OA and you think Ekholm is - yet you think Buch = Ekholm (more or less). It just doesn't work.
