Colorado passes. Chiasson does nothing for them. Tatar doesn't have enough years left on his deal. They weren't a cap team last year. Don't see that changing this year...

You're kidding right? Your getting a 60 point winger for a prospect that probably doesnt even end up playing for Colorado moving forward

Could argue they are not worth 1 year of Palmieiri...but if NJD is hoping to resign him, that is what it would take to pry him away.

you could argue that, and you'd be wrong lol., palmieri is a 29 year old on a 1 year deal and should be expected to hit land somewhere between 25-30 goals. if you go based off on that typical return i would say if they want to go the route or prospects picks they get a package of habs 1st n juulson or maybe hillis. anything more than that is not worth it. I wouldnt trade Romonov in that deal even if the devils were the ones adding the last 1st round pick.

I meant you could argue those prospects > 1 year of Palms. I think are equal in value.
But as you said, Palmieri is worth 1st and player...Juulson and 1st sounds about right. Or, just Caufield.

We need but we can't.
At first, when habs signed Edmundson, i was very angry cause i knew immediately this meant that the habs decided they would not invest in a a top 2 mobile LHD (Dunn, Sergachev, OEL, etc).

After I did a few caps projection, I understood why.

Given that the habs want to keep their core (price, weber, petry, Gally, Danault, etc), and resign KK and Suzuki, they can only afford to spend on either a top 6 forward or a top pair defenseman, not both. In other words, they can only invest in a 7 or 8 million player, not 2. Assessing our main weakness in playoffs was scoring, they decided to go with offense. My 50 cents. So sorry but no Sergy
