I don't know what the asking price for Brown would be but I sure like the addition. Cernak would be a tough asset to get though, Tampa is trying to off load their old guy in order to keep their young RFA's. I think that you see them take a bad deal for a Killorn or Johnson before moving a piece like Cernak or Ciarelli, switch Lucic and Rieder in the line up too, give Dube a solid defensive line so he can hone his craft in the O zone, guys that play with Backlund always seem to develop well.

There's no reason for Ottawa to trade Connor Brown. They need a guy like that more than they need the future assets they could get for him. He's a good middle six winger who is a great role model for a young team, while still being young enough to make sense as a part of the long term picture in Ottawa. You can't ice a team of entirely rookies and draft picks.

Don’t think Ottawa is interested in trading Brown, they’re collecting colours. Fr tho the organization really likes him and he’s now one of the most experienced players on the team lol, he’s unlikely to get moved. Cernak probably costs a 2nd+prospect as that would outbid an offer sheet that Calgary can then match, if it’s up to Tampa he won’t get dealt

I kind of figured that would be the answer I would get from Sens fans and it makes total sense. Before I put this trade in the post I had:

Mangiapane
1st (CGY 19)

for

Connor Brown
2nd (OTT 32)

Calgary moves down for what I think is the better player that fits Calgary's system better.
